Free and Purchased Leads

debbi

Recently, someone wrote our support staff asking if it was safe to import free or purchased leads into their autoresponder system.

It is our policy (and the policy of most - if not all - companies such as GetResponse) not to allow these types of leads to be imported. Your subscribers must have requested information from you specifically. This is entirely different from them clicking on a link, filling out a generic opt-in form, and having their name sold to tens or hundreds of people.

While there are a number of ways to build a list, GetResponse provides an easy alternative with their service at GetSubscribers. This service can add targeted subscribers to your list each and every day without the need for them to confirm.

If you are looking for a simple way to build your list, you may want to check it out!

What about people like myself, who are just starting out and do NOT have $80, $100 or $500 to spend on good targeted leads? I can’t afford those, but people like me could possibly afford $30 to $50 for a good amount of targeted leads.

I agree with you regarding “bought” leads. I ususally delete anything that I haven’t specifically requested.

I just need a good amount of targeted leads at a price I can afford. Do you have any suggestions?

    Hi RosaMary,

Building a business on a budget can be done, but it requires a bit of creativity.

One suggestion is to go through this blog. There are a number of posts about list building, which can give you some ideas.

Do you know how to create an opt-in (or name squeeze) page? If you do, you can capture your own leads instead of purchasing them from someone else. One of the best ways to get started is to write some good articles and submit them to the article directories, with a resource box at the bottom which points to your opt-in page.

Another low cost method is making friends online. Visit some of the social networking sites and discussion boards where your target market is likely to hang out. The key is to be friendly and helpful - NOT to be “in your face” promotional.

When they opt-in, don’t forget to have it tied to your GetResponse autoresponder with messages that not only encourage them to purchase or visit your site, but also to tell their friends about your business.
