As an enthusiastic GetResponse user with some great experiences and email marketing tips to share, Steve told us what approaches he uses when planning a new campaign or newsletter. What are the priorities?
- Offer something back to your customers for signing up, such as a free marketing course, a special gift or a product sample. Don’t simply ask them to sign up to keep in touch, they won’t.
- Keep your newsletter subscription page very simple. Too much detail will make customers lose focus on the most important part of the page. With GetResponse subscription form it’s really easy!
- Make sure to tell your customers that you won’t share their personal details with any third party. People are extremely serious about privacy and if you do the same they won’t hesitate in signing up. Some good piece of information referring to privacy policy is available in “Life after death. - Keep in touch with people at regular intervals so they don’t forget about you, however, what intervals will work best for you is definitely an individual issue.
- Do not spam. Sending too many messages to people who gave you their address will make them opt out your email list and will cause negative feedback. 27% recipients flag messages as spam when they are sent too frequently! (find out more here)
