Generating leads and collecting subscribers to your newsletter campaigns is crucial to your business success. But sometimes we put so much effort into important tasks like creating sign up forms, strategic follow up campaigns and targeted content for welcome messages, that we totally forget something equally important – saying „thank you” to our new subscribers.
Of course, with GetResponse Form Builder, you can use the default thank-you page that displays after sign up to your campiagn. But it might make an even better impression if you take a minute to customize it. Here are some tips and tricks on how to get – and give − the most out of your thank you page.
Simply say THANK you
We tend to forget the most obvious words sometimes. Like simply saying „thank you” to show subscribers that you appreciate their interest in your newsletter. It’s the first step to building a strong relationship, but it doesn’t stop there. How your thank you page looks and reads matters.
Strenghen your brand
First take a look at your homepage. What are the most important aspects from a branding perspective? Look at your logo position, the fonts, text formatting and color scheme. When building your thank you page, remember to make it consistent with the look and feel of your website. By communicating your brand along with your thank-you messages, you’ll strenghen your relationship with subscribers.
Personalize to build personal relationships
You can personalize your thank you page with any information your subscribers leave when filling in the form. The most basic personalization technique is to say „Thank you, John!”. It’s a great start. Just remember that you need to set up „forwarding custom data” in the setting of the web form you use.
Use Social Sharing and ”Refer a friend” tactics
The easiest way to promote newsletter sign ups is to ask your subscribers to share the info about your newsletter on their social pages. Give them easy-to-share links so the only thing they need to do is click! We use this tactic on our thank you page and we’re happy to share with you how we did it!

With the retweet button, it gets is a little more complicated, but it’s also more fun. You can create and add some text for your subscribers to retweet (and easily customize). You can generate your link with the tool: http://mashe.hawksey.info/sharegen.php, then simply paste it under your retweet button.
So once your custom thank you page is ready, just go to the web form tab in your GetResponse account, click on settings next to the web form, select the „custom thank you page” option and paste your url. And remember, by taking extra care with your new sign ups, you’ll start building strong relationships that will last − and increase new sign ups!
