The second phase of the GetResponse Email Template Design Contest has come to a close. For two weeks, you’ve used our Facebook profile to view and vote for your favorite templates designed by our 15 Finalists. For two weeks the finalists competed not just for the Audience Award but also for our Jury Panel votes. And in the end: the best designs were selected.
We were really amazed by the great feedback and the number of entries submitted. During the three weeks of the first phase, we received more than 600 entries.
Some contestants used our templates and modified them with their own content. Others created designs from scratch. And some used the HTML editor with their own code.
All the submissions were unique and original, so it was tough to select only 15 finalist designs to compete for fantastic prizes. You can view the finalists here.
Our judges were not unanimous: some valued creativity and originality more than communicative purpose; others rewarded organization. But at the conclusion of voting, we tallied up the points our judges assigned to their favorite designs and are pleased to present the lucky winners:
(and $1000) goes to:
Ray from Schenectady, NY.
Elliot Ross: This will be easy to use as a template, and it’s simple layout lends itself to good mobile rendering.
(and an iPad 3) goes to:
Kristi from St Paul, MN
Anna Yeaman: I liked how they used different colored HTML blocks to create visual interest. Would work well in Android also with 300px left rail.
Ann Handley: A little cluttered, but I like the typeface and social stuff.
(and 1-year Getresponse subscription) goes to:
Miguel from Salou, Spain
Elliot Ross: This has a strong visual hierarchy and could serve to be flexible as a template.
For two weeks, our Facebook fans reviewed, voted and commented on their favorite templates via our Facebook app. All you had to do to cast a vote was to give us a “Like”.
And now, thanks to the commitment of all the fans, we have the pleasure of announcing that the Audience Award ( iPad 3) goes to:
Miguel from Salou, Spain
(who is also the Third Prize winner).
Vote and Win
We also rewarded audience engagement — all those who participated and voted were entered in a drawing to win a GetResponse Just Create Monster T-shirt. And the winners are:
Lisa M Cope
Kristi Swee Kuder
Maria Dela Cruz
We’ll contact the winners via Facebook messages so watch out (and check the “Other” inbox in your Facebook messages as messages from pages usually land there).
The buzz around the contest and the enthusiasm of participant, judges and audience were really stunning. That’s why we’d like to say “Thank you” to all:
To our media partners: for the buzz you created around the contest.
To our judges: for your expertise and professionalism in the assessment process.
To entrants: for your incredible creativity and generosity in sharing your designs.
To the audience: for your commitment and enthusiasm in voting for your favorite templates.
Hope you all had as much fun as we did and that you’re looking forward to more fun stuff from GetResponse.
