The GetResponse team continues its tour of major marketing events, as noted before, and is faithfully sending updates to you, our blog audience. I had the pleasure of attending some very interesting meetings in Boston last week during the Inbound Marketing Summit. Then it was on to San Francisco with the Sales Team to “meet and greet” at DMA:2010.
We were lucky enough to catch up with Chris Brogan on Monday at his book signing event at the St. Regis Hotel. Brogan’s book “Trust Agents: Using the Web to Build Influence, Improve Reputation, and Earn Trust” made the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller list. In the book, he and co-author Julien Smith talk about how to use social media web tools to help build brand reputation and profits online. Here’s Mick and I with Chris:
Now, the news from Boston! I attended the Inbound Marketing Summit, held just outside of Boston at Gillette Stadium. It was a two-day gathering that focused on social media and other aspects of “inbound” marketing. It featured a line-up of about 75 speakers, including some of the industry’s “best and brightest”, like David Meerman Scott, Scott Stratten, and our friend, Chris Brogan.

This line from Scott has stuck in my mind since the conference. Scott spoke about the need for businesses to adopt the real-time mindset and take advantage of what’s happening now. If we can utilize the many social media tools available to us and make real-time decisions, we have the power to influence those around us before anyone else can.
