Split Test 2.0 — Soon Better Than Ever (Sneak Peek)

Currently in GetResponse, you can choose up to 5 newsletter versions to test. With Split Test 2.0 we’re about to make testing even more accessible and effective. Check out the brand-new improvements! 


Easier to use

First, you’ll be able to set up split testing during newsletter creation — no need to navigate to a different area of the main menu.

And we’ve made it quick-and-easy to choose any newsletter for split testing.

Do you want to test open rates or click-thru rates? Now you can choose which to test!

Do you like to keep control of every detail? Choose the element you want to test — and not just email content. Now you can test:

  • Subject line
  • Newsletter content
  • Send time
  • From fields


Setting up split tests

Defining a split test is a bit like setting up a chemistry experiment. What portion of recipients will receive each version? How many will receive the winning message after testing? In Split Test 2.0, you’ll be able to mix these ingredients using a clear-and-easy percentage bar.


New testing factors

Do you like to be the master of your email campaigns? We know you do! That’s why new Split Test 2.0 will let you define more testing factors:

  • Criteria for the winning message (open rate or click-thru rate)
  • Test duration (up to 14 days)
  • Results notification ( choose an email address to notify)


New ways to evaluate results

After you perform a split test, get ready – you’re about to discover a treasure-chest of valuable customer insights!

Our system shows not only standard values like open rate and click-thru rate. The new “Improvement” value reports how the winning message compares to the others based on a value you choose in Settings.

    Hi Katarzyna, is it in the future also possible to test multiple elements at the same time? For instance: 2 different titles and 2 different contents of the email in 1 test? (so 4 versions) And will it also become possible to change the winning message before sending it to the rest of the list? This should make it even better as it already is! 🙂 Thanks a lot!

    Hi Jan, I talked to the Team and we decided to enable one testing option at a time as two testing options could influence the final result and make them imprecise. Speaking of editing the winning message before sending, there will be a re-use option enabled soon. Stay tuned for the updates!

    Can you use split-testing in auto-responders (follow-ups) as well?
